Retro Industries Files For Bankruptcy

Retro Industries files for bankruptcy after 41 years of retro gaming. Retro Industries, founded in 1985, is a company well known for creating many classic retro gaming hits, such as Super Retro Bros., The Legend Of Retro, Retro the Hedgehog, and so many more. At one point in time, the company was a common name inside of every household after the release of their console at the time, the Retro Entertainment System.

The company responsible for defining the childhoods of millions has just filed for bankruptcy due to diminishing game sales after years of financial struggles and uninspired, buggy, unpolished games. A spokesperson from the company had this to say:

"It was bound to happen eventually. Nobody cares about Retro anymore."

This comes just weeks after the company had announced their "biggest project to date," Super Retro Titans. Many online had criticised the announcement, with many pointing out the clear use of generative AI. We briefly interviewed an ex-fan of Retro Industries, and this is what they said:

"I love all of Retro Industries old classics, Super Retro 64 has always been my favourite game ever. However, as much as I tried to defend the company and its developers, their recent game releases have been extremely lacking, and I can not at all defend the use of generative AI in gaming. As for the bankruptcy, I cannot say I am at all surprised. They have nobody to blame but themselves."
